About Bogdan Ionasca
My story
I’m a dynamic social person that appreciates diversity and its positive imprint in the development of a human being. Under its guidance, I was able to accumulate and learn from different fields of expertise, like engineering, volunteering and management.
My journey towards the fields of environmental, health and safety started when I was 15 years old and joined the Red Cross.
Here I learned about first aid and management of natural disasters. Teamwork is more than a boss word in this environment, it is about being safe because your colleague is there with you to support and cover in the worst case scenario. Communication, discipline and management skills are required in order to be able to provide first aid.
Even though the main focus of the Red Cross is people, it is also looking at the environment and its possible ramifications when evaluating regional situations.
After my experience with the Red Cross I joined Rotaract, the youth part of Rotary.
Here I learned about the power of community engagement and management. We organised the “Let’s do it Romania” in Maramures County and see that if people work together for one day they can clean up an entire county.
On my own time, I am volunteering at the TrekantBrand / Beredskabforbundet, Danish Civil Forces, were I am learning about first aid, fire fighting and management in natural disasters.
